Hi there, my name is Marie Leik (muh-REE LYK) and I am so glad you are here!
I was born and raised in Metro Manila, Philippines. I am the youngest of 6 children. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. My Dad was a very talented landscape artist and businessman, while my Mom managed our household. I now live in Lansing, Michigan with my incredibly smart husband and our sweet and sassy daughter.
In 2018, I decided to try my hand at Professional Photography by enrolling in a course at the New York Institute of Photography. It all started with my daughter, who lit the spark for my portrait adventure. I just wanted to capture the absolute best pictures of her!
I am passionate about my craft. I take pride in being hands-on from planning the shoot to delivering the final product. The best part is that it allows me to express my creativity and artistic vision. Portraits give me the power to freeze moments and emotions in time. Seeing the happiness and satisfaction on my clients' faces when they view their portraits warms my heart. Knowing that I've contributed to creating cherished memories reminds me of why I love what I do.
With the help and support of my beloved husband, my family, and friends who have rooted for me, along with my daughter who is and will always be my inspiration, Marie Leik Photography was born.
On a side note: I also love all things COFFEE, cooking, baking, dinner parties, traveling, movies/tv shows, and video games.
